The Freshman Lions took on the Eastview Patriots at AC Bible on Thursday, October 23.

The Leander Freshman Red team earned a hard-fought 16-0 victory over the Eastview Patriots  The Lion offense was led by quarterback Christian Jones, running back Jacob Alexander, who punched in a score, & tight end Josh Rude.  The defensive effort was anchored by linebackers Ivan Quiroz & Dyson Jones, as well as cornerback Aden Reams.

“Both [red and blue] teams did well,” Red player Jason Ebbeler said. “Both [teams] played well and didn’t let up.”

The Leander Freshman Blue team jumped out to a 21-0 halftime lead, & never looked back earning a 27-14 win over the Eastview Patriots.  The Lion offense was led by quarterback Coltin Davis, who threw for one touchdown & ran for two more, & receivers Jacob Egelsee (one TD reception) and Paul Beach, who took a second-half kickoff 70 yards for a touchdown.  The Lion defense had strong performances from linebacker Alex Williams, defensive end Frank Cortes & safety Noah King.

“Our strong point was our offense,” Blue player Marcos Martinez said. “Our offense was unstoppable.”
