The Junior Varsity and Freshman football teams may have experienced losses this past week against the Pflugerville Panthers, but the coaches and players are not about to let defeat take over that easily.

The Freshman Red and Blue teams played at home  at Bible Stadium against the Panthers on Thursday, September 19th. The Red team final score was 8-26, and the Blue team final score was 14-34.

“We just got to get special teams fixed and get better at blocking and tackling,” Freshman Coach Clay Richards said.

Meanwhile, the Junior Varsity Red and Blue teams challenged the Panthers on their turf. The Red team final score was 6-0, and the Blue team final score was 23-8, both in favor of Pflugerville.

“We’re growing and having a good experience. We win together, and we lose together. We’re all one big Lion family,” JV Offense Line Coach Contrucci said.

This Thursday, September 26th, the Lions will be challenging an age-old rival, the Cedar Park Timberwolves. The JV teams will play away at CPHS at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m, while the Freshman teams face them at Bible Stadium at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
