The Lady Lions softball team was stopped short in their game against Eastview.

“It didn’t feel good because we didn’t play our game,” junior Adrienne Vasquez said. “We didn’t hit as much as we were supposed to.”

Both defenses played hard as the first and second innings were scoreless. It wasn’t until the third inning that Eastview scored twice making it a 2-0 game. The Lady Lions fought back in the fourth inning to make it a 3-2 game. The last few innings went scoreless and the Lady Patriots came away with a victory with a final score of 3-2.

“I didn’t hit well, but I could have,” Vasquez said. “I’m not impressed with myself; then again I don’t feel any weight on my shoulders.”

JV swept the Lady Patriots to gain another victory. After the first inning the JV Lady Lions were ahead 5-1. After the second inning the JV Lady Lions scored twice making it a 7-1 game. During the third inning the JV Lady Lions scored six times to make it a 13-1 game. Then, the JV Lady Lions went on to win 15-1 against the JV Lady Patriots.

“We did really good because we had probably our best game this season so far as a JV [team],” sophomore Adrienne Ousley said, “We were working together finally and communicating and [we were] all talking to each other so we did really good.”

The Lady Lions’ next game will be at Vista Ridge on Friday. JV will play at 5 and varsity will play at 7.
