The varsity track team competed at the Hutto Relays and they won third overall at Hutto. Due to weather the results for the Maverick Relays at McNeil are unavailable.

“After a week of we will have to get back to work,” Head Coach Ryan Dubelbeis said. “This is the time of year everyone needs to be focused. We have district in 3 weeks and kids are ready to get back on the track and start working to get better.”

Top results of the meet were the 4×200 meter relay team, sophomore Gavin Davis who placed 3rd in the 100m, junior Juan Ruiz got 2nd in the 110 hurdles, junior Derek Voss won 3rd in pole vault and senior Raymond Gibson with 3rd in long jump. With the help of these results and others the team won third overall.

“Being in track is a great experience,” Voss said. “Competing in pole vault is also really fun individually but the team is a lot of fun.”

Next up the track team will compete at the Lion Relays at home on March 24th.

This is the time of year everyone needs to be focused.
