After eight years, Head Athletic Coordinator Kris Price resigned.
While a search for a new coordinator is in progress, Assistant Athletic Coordinator Stephanie Johns will serve as the interim campus athletic coordinator.
“Thank you, coach Price, for everything you have invested in Leander High School and Leander ISD. We wish you every success,” Principal Chris Simpson said in an email sent out to staff April 29.
Freshman football player Jayvion Washington-Herndon said, “It sucks. It sucks to lose a great coach like coach Price, but I feel like if we still just keep on working, keep on doing our thing, don’t skip reps and do everything right, we’ll be good next season.”
Sophomore football player Issac Platt said, “I’ve known coach Price for a while. He was definitely a big part of this program, and he’s gonna leave a big impact with him leaving. We’re gonna have to bank on the fact that our new head coach is able to fill that spot. Coach Price was a big role model for me, he helped me get into the program, and he taught me a lot about football. It’s a big thing for all of us to see him leave.”
Football coach Brady Spencer said, “When Coach Price leaves, we are going to miss him, but we are going to focus on getting better. Our football team will be better next year. We’re putting in the work and the results will show on the field,”
Sophomore football player Devin Keeth-Stephens, “Next year our football team will be great. Coach Price is a good man but it’s about the players not the coach. We are a big family and we will keep each other motivated.”
