Lady Lions battle the Tigers in first district match
Varsity
The Lady Lions were defeated by Dripping Springs Lady Tigers on Friday night, September 11th. The game was a hard loss with the final outcome being 3-0 sweep, with a first set score of 17-25, the second set was 4-25 and and the third set score was 12-25.
“We did well against a super dynamic team,” senior Callie Reed said. “I thought our defense and serve receives was the best it ever has been.”
Junior Varsity
The JV team lost to Dripping Springs. The final outcome of the game was 2-0 in favor of the Tigers. The first set ended with a score of 16-25 and the second 18-25.
“We played amazingly,” freshman Amanda Larson said.”Since Drip is one of the best teams, but we were extremely close. We were not letting any balls drop and were serving tough.”
Freshman A
Freshman A ended the game with a loss, a final score of 2-0. The first set finished off with a score of 12-25 and the second with a score of 19-25.
“We played good,” freshman Bailey Johnson said. “It was just little things that got us both games.”
Freshman B
The only team to win a set against Dripping Springs was the freshman B. The final outcome was 2-1 with Dripping Springs winning. The first set scored 11-25, the second set 25-18 and the third set 8-25.
“The B team played the best we have all season and fought hard against drip,” freshman Haley Mossell said. “We played through three games and even though we lost, we couldn’t be prouder of the way we worked together as a team.”
The Lady Lions’ next game will be on Tuesday, September 15 at Leander against crosstown rival Cedar Park.
