American Horror Story is a brand new TV show created and produced by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck. The pair are best known for their work on the show Glee. On October 5, the first episode aired on the FX network.

The show centers on the Harmon family, which is made up of psychiatrist Ben (Dylan McDerrmott), housewife Vivian (Connie Britton), and their daughter Violet (Taissa Farmiga). After Vivian’s miscarriage and Ben’s extramarital affair, the family decides to move from Boston to Los Angeles. They move into a restored mansion and have no clue that the house is haunted. They soon learn that the previous owners of the mansion were murdered. As the three settle into their new home, Ben and Vivian try to fix their marriage and Violet suffers from depression.

They soon meet their neighbor Constance and her mentally challenged daughter Adelaine, both of which are hinted to have a connection to the house’s past. Ben starts to see his psychiatric patients in the house, including Tate, who seems to have an interest in Violet. The more they stay in the house, the more the Harmon family realizes that they have entered into a nightmare.

The show comes on Wednesday night at 9pm.
