The cast and crew of “9 to 5” pose, decked in formal wear, in front of the Austin skyline before the Heller Awards for Young Artists. The evening began with photo opportunities on a classic red carpet or on the adjacent fields before the performances and awards began. “We got to take so many pretty pictures,” sophomore Evyn Kidd said. “It was really fun because we got to hang out with everyone from the show. It was a really good experience.”

All leads from ‘Pippin’ were eligible for nomination. However, Senior Matthew Kennedy, who portrayed ‘Leading Player’, was the only actor nominated, for Best Actor in a leading role.

The One Act Play, Picnic, has won first overall for the fourth time and will be advancing to state along with one other show. They will compete at Bass Concert Hall on May 24 in the first session, starting at 4pm.
