The Lions’ tennis team will feature two tennis players at regionals.

Senior Alper Orkun and junior Joseph Rexrode will be playing boys doubles at the regionals tournament.

“Both Alper and I were at a loss for words,” Rexrode said. “We were dead set on making it and now that it’s finally happened, it feels great. I’m so excited.”

The players now must prepare for their regionals competition, and have already begun discussing strategy.

“Well we’ve been working on volleys a lot,” Rexrode said, “as well as doubles strategy, but really other than a few more practices, regionals is right around the corner, so our amount of preparation is limited.”

Regionals will be in San Antonio on April 21 and April 22.
